FAQ
Csv2Email turns a Klaviyo email template into a spreadsheet, then turns each row back into a draft Klaviyo campaign. Here’s what people ask most.
Csv2Email is a web app for Klaviyo. It turns a Klaviyo drag-and-drop email template into a spreadsheet, then turns each filled-in row back into its own draft Klaviyo campaign, up to 5 at a time. It's for marketers who send lots of similar emails and are tired of copying content into Klaviyo's editor by hand.
Ecommerce brands and marketers who send runs of similar campaigns (product drops, sale series, weekly newsletters, the same email for different collections or languages), and agencies and freelancers who build those campaigns in a client's Klaviyo account.
No. Csv2Email is an independent app made by Unclosed Labs LLC. You connect it to your Klaviyo account through Klaviyo's own authorization screen, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Yes. Pick any drag-and-drop template in your Klaviyo account and Csv2Email downloads a zip: a CSV with every editable text, image and alt-text field, pre-filled with the template's current content, plus a copy of each image.
Each row is one new campaign, up to 5 per upload. Columns hold the campaign name, subject line and preview text, then one column per piece of text (text1, text2, …) and one per image, each followed by its alt text. Leave a cell blank to keep the template's current content.
Templates built with Klaviyo's drag-and-drop editor. Classic and code-your-own HTML templates aren't supported.
Yes. Any spreadsheet app that saves a CSV file works, including Excel (save as "CSV UTF-8"), Google Sheets and Numbers. Or skip the spreadsheet and fill in your campaigns right in the browser.
No. The Prepare Campaigns grid lets you fill in up to 5 campaigns in the browser, drop images onto each row, and go straight to review without downloading anything.
Every text block (headlines, body text, button labels), every image, including section background images, and each image's alt text, plus the campaign name, subject line and preview text. The layout stays exactly as it is, and button links aren't changed.
JPG, PNG or GIF files up to 5MB each. In the spreadsheet, type an image's filename into its column (capitalization doesn't matter). In the browser, drop files onto a row and Csv2Email places each one in an image slot, matching by name where it can.
No. It never edits the template you start from. Each campaign is built from a copy, and the temporary copy is removed afterwards, so your Klaviyo Templates list stays tidy.
Open it again from Create Campaigns and Csv2Email picks up the new layout on its own and tells you. If you'd already downloaded a CSV for that template, download a fresh one, since the old one no longer matches.
Yes. If a section is duplicated in Klaviyo with one copy set to desktop only and the other to mobile only, Csv2Email shows the two together, and one-click Copy Desktop → Mobile fills the mobile side from the desktop one. It's available on every plan, including Free.
No. Every campaign is created as an unsent draft in Klaviyo. You review it, set your sender details, and schedule or send it from Klaviyo yourself.
Up to 5 per upload, one per spreadsheet row. Each campaign you build uses one build from your plan's allowance: 5 on Free a month, then 20 a month on Starter, 80 on Studio and 750 on Agency.
Its name, subject line, preview text, audience and email content. Sender name, sender email and reply-to address are left for you to set in Klaviyo, along with the send time.
On the Review step, pick one or more of your existing Klaviyo lists and segments for each campaign. Csv2Email doesn't create lists or segments.
No. Klaviyo's own CSV import handles contacts and lists. Csv2Email uses a spreadsheet for your email content (text, images and alt text), and you pick each campaign's audience from your existing Klaviyo lists and segments.
No. Csv2Email only builds email campaigns and never reads or changes your profiles. For bulk profile imports, updates, suppressions or deletions, use Klaviyo's own import and profile tools or its API.
Seven permissions: read your account details, read and write templates, upload images, create draft campaigns, and read your lists and segments. It doesn't ask for access to your profiles, and it never sends or schedules campaigns.
You connect through Klaviyo's own authorization screen, so Csv2Email never sees your Klaviyo password. Its access tokens are encrypted at rest, and nothing is ever sent or scheduled on your behalf.
Disconnect from Settings → Integrations. Csv2Email's access is revoked in Klaviyo, and the template information and build history it stored for that Klaviyo account are deleted. The count of campaigns you've built stays, so disconnecting doesn't reset your plan's allowance. Campaigns and images it already created stay in Klaviyo.
How many Klaviyo accounts you can connect at once depends on your plan: 1 on Free, 1 on Starter, 5 on Studio and 20 on Agency. You switch between them in the app, and disconnecting one frees its slot straight away. A given Klaviyo account can still only be connected to one Csv2Email account.
Free ($0/month): 5 builds a month, 1 Klaviyo account. Starter ($19/month): 20 builds a month, 1 Klaviyo account. Studio ($49/month): 80 builds a month, 5 Klaviyo accounts. Agency ($199/month): 750 builds a month, 20 Klaviyo accounts. Every feature is available on every plan, including Free. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time.
Yes, from Settings → Profile. Deleting it stops any subscription, disconnects Klaviyo and removes your account.
